BUYER CHECKLIST | MODERN TEA BEVERAGES

Evaluate an oolong tea base before it enters a drink menu

A clear sample record helps cafes, distributors and beverage teams compare tea bases by the drink they need to make, not by a generic tasting note alone.

1. Define the finished application

Write the drink first: milk tea, fruit tea, lemon tea, sparkling tea, cold brew or bottled RTD. Note the serving size and the ingredients that will surround the tea. A base that is expressive in a clear cold brew may need a different body or roast direction for milk tea.

2. Lock the brew variables

Use the same variables for every comparison. For a broader application map, see the distributor guide and the B2B oolong tea-base directory.

3. Score the finished drink

Record aroma, body, color, bitterness, astringency, finish and how the tea behaves with milk, fruit, citrus, sweetener or carbonation. Keep the score tied to the intended drink rather than treating a single tasting result as a universal product claim.

4. Decide the next pilot

Choose one controlled next step: repeat the same recipe, adjust dilution, compare a second aroma or roast direction, or move to a packaging and stability test. Product-specific documents, shelf-life and regulatory checks still need separate confirmation before launch.
